The Cayman Islands Flag Football Association has just finished its best ever season and a recap on how well it went will be one of the things discussed this weekend at the Annual General Meeting .
As well as a competitive men’s league, the inaugural women’s league was a total success too.
Association president George ‘Teddy’ Hydes said: ‘We would like to say a big thank you to all teams for helping us have such a successful season, and we would also like to once again congratulate our new champions, Hammerheads Lady Pirates and the Caybrew Farm Soldiers.
‘Now that the season has ended, we are looking forward to the next onand all the planning and organizing that comes along with it.
‘I would like to invite each of you to CIFFA’s AGM, which will be held at 11am on Saturday at the Comfort Suites ground floor boardroom.’
The meeting will be held as a means of forming the new executive committee for the upcoming season, as well as to get feedback from players regarding the way the season went and to listen to and address any concerns going forward.
Other topics such as this year’s I-Cup and starting of the new season will also be addressed.
They also want to settle on a new executive committee (combination of men and women) at this meeting, which will oversee all aspects of both leagues, as well as form sub-committees, of which members will be assigned certain tasks pertaining to the league and will directly report to an executive committee member with updates and progress.
Hydes added: ‘We will only be accepting nominations for the executive committee positions. Please feel free to nominate either yourself or someone you feel may be suited for a position to Marcus Cumber at [email protected]. As for the sub-committees, these will be formed after the AGM.’
