In response to customer demand for HDTV offerings, WestStar has begun upgrading equipment. New equipment, such as HD set-top boxes and MPEG 4 technology will allow WestStar to offer an HDTV package in the near future, while other enhancements to the system will lead to improved service for all WestStar’s subscribers.
Operations manager, Traci Bradley, said: ‘Satellite dishes are being re-tuned, equipment is being replaced and new equipment will improve the quality of existing channels, while allowing for expansion of channel offerings to all subscribers.’
WestStar’s enhanced services mean more channels will be offered in addition to the new HD channels.
WestStar is working diligently to complete the upgrades as quickly as possible and look forward to exciting announcements in the near future.
