It’s interesting that the Minister is defending the Hedge Fund industry at a time when people all over the world are losing their pension money because of the financial melt-down.
Problem is no one in authority can explain to everyday people what these secret hedge funds do for them and more importantly, why should Cayman continue to be used as a pawn by super rich financial manipulators form the United States and the United Kingdom with no real benefit to the average Cayman citizens?
The Minister must understand the world has changed even before President Elect Obama assumes the reigns of power.
The New York Times business section on 30 October page six reported the IRS is making sweeping changes that will affect offshore financial centres by way of corporate foreign taxes.
I suggest you read it.
Although is was widely rumoured in Cayman that Senator Obama was bad for Cayman, it was nothing but propaganda put out by the same divisive forces that keep our country divided so they can control our government.
All can see that those days are over.
I ask the Minister to stand up for the people and bring into effect ‘The Boundary Commission Electoral Report of 2003’ please.
Defend full human rights for our citizens for a change; the money boys can take care of them selves.
