Aspiring poets have the opportunity to hone their craft in a Cayman National Cultural Foundation poetry workshop in February.
The tutor for the workshop is Cayman’s leading poet Leonard Dilbert. The workshop has a limited number of spaces and is aimed at poets with some experience.
Poets had to apply to be accepted to the workshop.
The workshop will be held at the Harquail Studio Theatre from 9 to 13 February at 7pm.
This is the second poetry workshop that Mr. Dilbert has tutored in association with the CNCF.
Mr. Dilbert’s poetry has won acclaim from many literary professionals. He is best-known for his book of poems Grown From This Ground.
‘…[H]is auditory imagination is trustworthy, sophisticated and often downright gorgeous,’ said Wayne Brown, arts editor of the Jamaica Observer.
Robin Behn of the University of Alabama said: ‘Grown From This Ground is an astonishing debut by a significant new lyric poet.’
