HSBC Bank (Cayman) Limited recently made a donation of US$22,625 in support of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations’ early childhood education programme.
The donated funds, from an HSBC client’s charitable trust, will be used to improve the quality of the facilities and educational programmes at Miss Nadine’s PreSchool, specifically to upgrade the sand pit in the pre-school playground and to landscape the area around the playground.
A portion of the funds will also be used to purchase books, art and school supplies for the current school year.
‘HSBC is pleased to support the important role that NCVO plays in providing an opportunity for all children to get a good educational start,’ said HSBC Cayman’s Chief Executive Officer Gonzalo Jalles.
‘Along with the NCVO, we at HSBC recognise that a good early childhood education is critical to every child’s development and we applaud NCVO in caring for those children who may otherwise be under served.’
NCVO’s Chief Executive Officer, Janice Wilson said: ‘HSBC’s generous donation is very timely and very much appreciated as it will enable us to carry out necessary improvements so that we can continue to provide a safe learning environment for our children.’
