In the world of college sports March is synonymous with madness.
That’s because men’s and women’s collegiate basketball reaches a fever pitch with a plethora of conference tournaments and the fight for a place in the biggest of them all: the NCAA tournament.
All of that is in motion this week as many conferences have competitions underway.
Most of the talk this year, as usual, is about who is going to the ‘Big Dance’ and at what seed.
On the men’s side debate rages over who can get in the way of North Carolina and Pittsburgh meeting for the title. For the women it’s whether Connecticut can run the table and win the rest of their games to be the champions.
It’s too early to say where they stand but a few schools should make the dance. Florida State and Texas men’s teams should get in while for the women Florida and Virginia should be in the mix.
With such a large American influence in Cayman, don’t be surprised to see plenty of people caught up in the hoopla that is March madness.
