FirstCaribbean International Bank recently pledged its support to the Cayman Heart Fund’s mission to distribute automated external defibrillators throughout public areas across the Cayman Islands.
‘Our goal is to have enough AED’s and trained volunteers to ensure that no matter the location there is at least one life saving device close by,’ said Cayman Heart Fund Director Dr. Sook Yin.
FirstCaribbean Local Processing Centre Manager Paul Stoll said: ‘At FirstCaribbean we feel this is an extremely important project and a great way to give back to the community. We hope that our support will help save lives.
‘We recognise the importance of having our staff trained and able to use the machine if the need should arise. At present, we are very proud to say, we have 14 staff members who are certified in CPR, First Aid and CPR/AED through the Red Cross training programmes.’
The Cayman Heart Fund is seeking donations and is appealing to the public for help.
‘We can all do our part to ensure we can make a difference between life and death,’ said Dr. Yin.
