World Cup team wants backing

The Cayman Islands Flag Football Association is sending a team to represent the Cayman Islands at the 10th Annual World Cup of Flag Football, scheduled to take place on April 29-May 3 in Rosarito, Mexico.

CIFFA is currently accepting sponsors to assist the players with the cost of travel and accommodations.

Please note that any donations must be made payable to CIFFA. Any solicitation, which seeks for payment to be made in any other manner, is not authorised by CIFFA.

Cayman always does well in the World Cup. Last year they got to the finals and lost to the mighty USA partly because three of their best players – Perry ‘Boy Wonder’ Levy, Brendon Malice and Ike ‘Chilli’ Ebanks were all hobbling with injuries.

Cayman’s record in this competition is amazing. They always finish in the top four despite facing teams from much larger countries like Canada, USA and Mexico. This year they are even more confident because they haven been training throughout the close season.

The Cayman Islands Flag Football Association is a registered non-profit organization. Every year it organizes a Men’s League, Women’s League, Youth League, Co-Ed League, Beach Tournament and International Cup and continues to strive to expand this sport in these Islands.

Any questions should be directed to the President of CIFFA, Todd Hazlewood at [email protected].
