Bullets shoot well

The Silver Bullets can make shots in bunches.

With star young players like Deandre Simpson and Josh Cotterell alongside veterans like Redver Ebanks and Adam Milburn scoring is far from an issue.

Last Thursday the squad proved that point as they shot down the Wendy’s Tarheels 68-41 in division one of the 2009 Domino’s Pizza Men’s Basketball League.

The Bullets had their shooting touch early on posting 20 points in the first quarter before dropping 18 points in the second quarter.

With a 24 point lead by half-time the side was in control and never looked back. Granted their focus slipped somewhat in the second half as they allowed 27 points. But that outburst was too little too late for Tarheels.

The reality was Bullets excelled on the defensive end. They forced 21 turnovers, nabbed 16 steals and even had four blocks.

When the smoke settled the stars lead the way for the Bullets. Deandre Simpson lead all scorers with 19 points to go with his 10 rebounds and two blocks.

Vanrick Felix stepped up with 17 points and Adam Milburn posted 10 points and five assists.

For the Tarheels stand-out U19 Boys League player Stephen Shaw lead the way with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Ransford Welcome, known more for his exploits in flag football, chipped in with 10 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. Haymond Rankine was another notable player with eight points and seven rebounds.

The next two games on the schedule are tomorrow night from 6:15pm.
