On behalf of the Government and people of Jamaica, I extend heartiest congratulations to you and the United Democratic Party on your victory at the general elections on Wednesday, 20 May, 2009.
You have assumed office at a very challenging period for Cayman and the international community, as we grapple with the global financial and economic crisis. Your victory at the polls clearly demonstrates the confidence that the people of the Cayman Islands have in your ability to steer the country through these volatile economic times.
Jamaica greatly values its relations with Cayman and looks forward to the further strengthening of the ties of friendship and cooperation that unites us.
Please accept, Excellency, best wishes for a successful term of office.
