Pigs face Buccs in cup

Stirring rugby action is guaranteed at the club in South Sound tomorrow.

The 2009 BrightStaff Alex Alexander Championship Buccaneers will face off against the Queensgate Pigs Trotters at 5pm in the final of the Waterford Knock out Vase.

It’s the culimination of the Cayman Rugby Federation Union 15-a-side season.

Queensgate Pigs Trotters beat DHL Cayman Storm 20-18 last weekend and BPC Buccaneers thrashed Don Fosters Dive Iguanas 58-0 last weekend.

This should be a cracker of a game as the BPC Bucaneers found excellent form against the Don Fosters Dive Iguanas on Saturday in a highly charged match while the Queensgate Pigs Trotters battled until the 79th minute for the go ahead try against the DHL Storm after both teams were locked in a 15 all tie for most of the second half.

The teams met twice in the Brightstaff Alex Alexander championship with the BPC Buccaneers beating the Queensgate Pig Trotters 38-17 in the first game while the Pigs beat the Buccs 27-12 in the second game.

The Buccs have the best back line in the league while the Pigs with their strong pack will look to frustrate the Buccs by limiting the amount of ball that they have available to distribute to their backs. It should be a brilliant end to what has been heralded as the best championship that the Union has ever held with the best level of rugby since the Unions beginning.
