Tourism operators who want to register staff for the Personal Responsibility in Delivering Excellence customer service training programme can now do so online.
A new website has been established for the programme, known as PRIDE, and it can be accessed at www.caymanislands.ky/pride.
PRIDE was developed more than a year ago by the Department of Tourism to provide training for improving customer service standards in Cayman’s tourism sector.
Since its implementation, about 1,700 staff from 50 organisations have been trained.
PRIDE’s Standards and Inspection Officer Daphine Watson said the department established the website so it could reach more people.
‘The website showcases the programme, gives people access to general information, and can be used as a registration portal for the Pride Promises workshops,’ she said.
The website targets tourism-related businesses and industry employees who want to improve their customer service skills. In addition, managers wishing to register their staff can visit the site to select from several training workshops that the Department of Tourism posts regularly.
‘We also have group registration for tourism organisations that prefer to register up to 10 people at one time,’ Ms Watson said.
