The Cayman Islands junior squash team has leaft for the Caribbean Junior Squash Championships in Barbados, which starts tomorrow.
There are 12 players representing Cayman this year, including one of the best male teams in years. They are favourites to win the boys’ team championship this year, while the girls look poised to strongly contend in the individual events.
All players take part in their respective age groups from under-13s to under-19s. Last year, Cayman placed fifth overall and are hoping to improve on this.
To help with expenses, top law firm Maples kindly made a donation. Maples have a long history of giving generously to sports projects and this is another example of them giving back to the community.
Paul Lumsden, a Partner of Maples and Calder, presented top player Courtney Stafford with a donation.
