Catering students get taste of work place

Almost 60 John Gray High School catering class students spent their three weeks of work experience checking out the industry.

Local restaurants, hotels and other catering institutions were happy to share their skills and encourage the students. Some students have even secured summer employment as a result.

Those involved include Abacus, Al La Kebab, Baccus, Boatswains Beach, Breezes, The Brick House, Calypso Grill, Cobalt Coast, Goddard Catering, Grand Cayman Beach Suites, Guy Harvey’s, Grand Old House, Hard Rock Café, Hurley’s, Icoa, Lobster Pot, Margaritaville, Marriott, Morritts, Ritz Carlton, Senor Frogs, Sunshine Suites, Thai Orchid and Westin Casuarina.

Several students decided to try a less traditional setting and assisted with food preparation and service at Azzurro/AL Thompson location, Prospect Primary, Mike’s Esso and the Achievement Centre.
