The local Olympic Committee’s recent fund-raising efforts caught the attention of a number of Cayman businesses.
With the many expenses Cayman incurs in sending athletes to major international sporting events like the Olympics funding becomes a big concern.
The latest company to step in and try to alleviate that financial stress is Transocean Inc.
Transocean Inc is the largest offshore drilling contractor in the world. The company maintains more than 21,000 employees in over 30 countries.
The corporation recently made a significant donation to Betty Baraud of the Cayman Islands Olympic Fund-raising Committee.
On hand for the donation were Monica Czorny, Avril Gallagher, Steve McFadin and Nicole Wild-Merl of Transocean.
McFadin, Managing Director of the Cayman Transocean office says, ‘It gives me great pleasure to support such a worthy cause and Transocean will continue to play an integral role in supporting the development of sports on the island.’
