Lions donation helps students

The Lions Club of Grand Cayman is the latest service club to improve the back-to-school conditions of local students by donating funds to the Department of Children and Family Services.

The club recently presented a cheque for $888 which will buy school uniforms for 12 of the department’s clients.

Speaking of the donation, Mr. Ian Callow, third vice-president for the Lions Club said: ‘As part of our youth outreach we are pleased to assist, especially in these tough economic times.’

The department’s Director, Deanna Look Loy, in accepting the cheque said: ‘Uniforms can be so important, especially when it comes to building self-esteem.’
