CeCe Winans set to entertain Cayman

Gospel artist CeCe Winans will soon take her first trip to Cayman’s shores.

Ms Winans will be performing in Hallelujah 2K9, a concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Light of the World Christian Fellowship Ministry in the Cayman Islands.

Although her brother BeBe Winans has been to Cayman before, event organiser Patrick Thompson said that this will be CeCe’s first trip.

‘This will be her first performance and trip to the Cayman Islands. On 6 October, the duo’s [Bebe’s and CeCe’s] new album Still will be released and she will be performing at the Lions Centre just days after the release,’ said Mr. Thompson.

The church, the Light of the World, has held gospel concerts in previous years but last year ‘due to reasons outside of our control we did not have the event,’ said Mr. Thompson. ‘We do plan to have the event next year and the years to come.’

Guests can expect an evening full of gospel music, as other artists to perform alongside Ms Winans include Second Chance from Fort Lauderdale, who perform gospel reggae, Mike Green from Nicaragua who has a Spanish gospel reggae style and local acts such as Michelle T, Shawn Warren, Keesa Peart-Garricks, Clive Bennett and Wassy.

‘Concertgoers can expect an extraordinary night of praise and worship,’ said Mr. Thompson. ‘The name of Jesus will be lifted up as high as the patrons and ministers of music and song will be able to lift it. Come expecting a blessing, your deliverance, healing and whatever you need from God.’

HOT 104.1FM is one of the event sponsors. Chuck Taylor, programme director and on-air personality for the radio station, said that HOT 104.1FM is pleased ‘to be a part of a positive musical event like the Hallelujah concert. The great line-up of local and regional artists as well as internationally-renowned artist CeCe Winans will definitely prove to be a wonderful night for anyone who loves music and the performing arts. I encourage everyone to come out and bring the family for a concert to remember.’

The event begins at 6.30pm at the Lions Centre on Saturday, 10 October. Tickets are $25 pre-sold or $30 at the gate (VIP is available for $50 per person) and are available at Funky Tangs, Christian Enlightenment Centre, J&M Electronics, Real Wood Cabinets and Reflections.
