On Thursday 15 October Fidelity will celebrate its 30th anniversary by honouring one of the country’s national heroes in a dedication ceremony during the opening of the new Fidelity Financial Centre, Esterley Tibbetts Highway.
The Leader of Government Business McKeeva Bush will deliver the opening address and George McCarthy, Chairman of the Board of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority will also speak during the opening of the new Fidelity Financial Centre.
The Centre’s new Banking Hall will be dedicated to Sybil I. McLaughlin.
Five years ago, the late Sir Vassel Johnson, a long-time Fidelity Board Member and one of the founders of Cayman’s financial industry, was similarly honoured at the Fidelity Financial Centre, Dr. Roy’s Drive.
Mrs. McLaughlin is known and widely respected for her long successful career in government and for her contributions to the Caymanian community.
Brett Hill, CEO and President of Fidelity Cayman said: ‘We are celebrating thirty years in Cayman as well as the grand opening of our new Fidelity Financial Centre location and it seemed a fitting time to also recognise Mrs. McLaughlin’s tremendous accomplishments by naming our new Banking Hall in her honour.’
Fidelty Chairman Anwer Sunderji added: ‘We have grown as the country has grown, and this new Financial Centre is a symbol of our commitment to the future of the Cayman Islands.
‘We are proud of the role we have played in helping Caymanians build financial security and we are gratified to know that over the years, we’ve touched many lives and helped many people.’
