Cayman Jazz Fest 2009 kicks off tonight at Pedro St. James.
Gates open at 6pm with the show starting at 7pm. Local favourite Hi Tide kicks it off before Kirk Whalum and Oleta Adams wow the crowds. Valet parking will be available.
Friday’s bash at Camana Bay also opens at 6pm with show time at 7pm. Jon Ebanks and Big Eye Squirrel represent the Islands whilst Peabo Bryson, Mike Phillips and Keith Sweat bring the hot sounds to a conclusion.
Saturday starts a little earlier, also at Camana Bay. Crowds are advised that gates will be open at 5pm and show time is 6pm sharp. Absolute Joy, Andrea Rivers and Los Tropicanos purvey their Caymanian skills and Arturo Tappin, Elle Varner and Alicia Keys all offer their own stylish sonics.
Children younger than 12 will be admitted free but patrons are advised that no photography or video-taping of any of the events is allowed. Visitors are encouraged to take chairs and/or blankets for comfort, but no coolers will be allowed.
Tickets are available at Funky Tangs, Books & Books, Atlantic Department Store, Hobbies & Books, Books By The Bay and from Department Of Tourism. There will be no re-entry on any evening.
On Friday, 4 December, at 6am Camana Bay closes for all boat traffic on its canal, reopening on Sunday, 6 December.
