Corporate travel is increasing,
according to organisers of a business travel and meetings event being held in
Earl’s Court, London.
Registrations for the corporate
programme at the Business Travel and Meetings Show have increased by 400 per
cent, according to Centaur Exhibitions, who organised the conference.
The two-day event is open to buyers
who have a corporate budget of £3 million or more. 611 have registered in 2010
compared to last year’s 140 registrants.
Speaking to Travel Daily UK, Mike
Sherrard of Centaur said that the first day of the conference was packed which
showed signs of market recovery.
“Technology is one of the first
things to recover after a recession – and so is corporate travel. “People realise
that technology is the fast track to getting the better business model and the
technology show is the busiest I’ve ever seen it,” he said.
Presentations will take place by a
number of travel marketers including representatives from Virgin Galactic who
are trying to entice companies to hold their business meetings in space.
