More racing at Breakers

It has not been a month since the
last meet at Breakers and the track will once again see action.

Tomorrow sees a Cayman Motorsports
Association drag meet at Breakers Speedway.

The action starts from 6pm with
technical inspection ongoing from 2pm. Spectators will see a CI$5 admission
fee.

Racers paid a CI$40 competition fee
and are eligible for first and second place prizes in all classes.

Breakers Speedway has hosted the local association often
in the past. Last year the body introduced a Full Throttle race series at the
track that focused on vehicle drive-train and bracket racing as opposed to the
regular time classes.

In addition the association also
held Time Attack dexterity races there. The first race for the New Year in that
discipline is slated to take place next weekend.

News of tomorrow’s drag race comes
a few weeks after track owner Robert Campbell held an international meet at the
facility.

Jamaican dragsters Craig Lue (in a
blue Mitsubishi Evolution VII) and Dean Shaw (in a white Chevy Camaro) came
down for the race along with Floridian biker Victor Gotay.

Lue (who set the new AWD drive
mark) and Shaw consistently made five second runs while Gotay established the
new motorcycle record.

Ultimately local racer Jody Jervis
stole their thunder by setting the new track record for fastest street car in
his white Nissan Skyline.
