U17s face Costa Rica first

They have trained for three hard
years for this moment and whatever happens, Caymanians will remain proud of
them.

History will be made this evening
when the Cayman Under-17s girls football team play their first game in the
CONCACAF group stage against Costa Rica.

The Group B match in San Jose kicks
off at 8.30pm Cayman time.

Cayman face defending champs USA on
Friday (6pm) and Haiti on Sunday (noon).

Group A includes Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and
Panama. Three of these eight teams will go through to the World Cup finals in
Trinidad and Tobago in August.

If Cayman reach the CONCACAF semi-finals
after the round robin games, they will play on 18 March and the finals are set
for two days later.
