Musician plays at Vigoro

If your idea of heaven is browsing
through a garden centre to find the perfect plant for your home or garden, then
that experience is about to get more heavenly.

At the Vigoro Nursery in Agricola
Drive in Lower Valley, shoppers can roam through the extensive garden to the
backdrop of violin music on Saturday, 24 April.

This is the second time the nursery
has hosted a musical afternoon, explained Nancy Rohleder, who runs Vigoro, who
hosted a similar event the day before Valentine’s Day.

Talented violinist Kate Allenger
will again be appearing at the nursery with her electric violin.

“Kate has an amazing repertoire.
Because it was around Valentine’s Day, she played a lot of romantic violin
music the last time. The music was so beautiful and people loved it so much, she
could play the same thing and I’m sure everyone would be happy,” said Ms. Rohleder.

“But she has an incredible range of
music, she can play anything,” she added.

The music in the garden will be
held between 3pm and 5pm.

“Come along. Buy a cappuccino or
have a cup of tea. Have a cookie or a treat,” invited Ms Rohleder. “The whole
point of it is, it’s not really a concert, it’s beautiful music in the background
while you’re doing your shopping.”

However, she said visitors to the
store and nursery were welcome to bring along folding chairs if they wished to
sit and enjoy the music outside. “We also have benches,” she said.

She plans to hold music in the garden
regularly, although with the rainy season approaching, it may be autumn before
the next musical interlude, she said.
