Wolves lead pack

The local basketball season is near
its half way point and talk among local hoops fans centres on the Wolves being
the last unbeaten team.

The side beat the Dominos Warriors
last Thursday in a match-up of undefeated teams. Dwight O’Garro led the charge
with 21 points, 24 rebounds and four assists. Collin Anglin was top scorer for
Dominos with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Wolves hope O’Garro continues his
fine form on Thursday in the side’s next match. At 6:30pm the squad takes on
the Silver Bullets at the Arts and recreation
Center at Camana Bay.

Bullets can pose a threat if Josh
Cotterell steps up. In the side’s dominant 97-81 win over Philippines two weeks
ago Cotterell poured in 26 points and 10 boards.

Aside from the Wolves and the
Silver Bullets the other match on Thursday is between the Bulls and team Philippines
at 8:30pm.

Philippines have a solid 2-2 record
after defeating the Esso Blazers 89-88 last Thursday. Eric Marcilla was the
hero with 23 points (including five three-pointers) and four steals. Ding
Briones chipped in 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals.

Perry Levy had a fantastic game for
the Blazers with 33 points (including three treys), 10 rebounds, six steals and
four assists. Bruce Reynolds added 18 points, nine rebounds, six assists and
five steals.
