Upgrades for Royal Caribbean ships

Royal Caribbean is upgrading
Freedom of the Seas and Liberty
of the Seas to the standard of facilities on the cruise company’s mega-ship,

Freedom and Liberty will both have new dining, entertainment,
children’s programming and other enhancements, said a press release.

Lisa Bauer, senior vice president
of Hotel Operations at Royal Caribbean International said that they were always
exploring new ways to enhance guests’ vacations,

“We have received such
overwhelmingly positive guest responses to amenities, entertainment and
programs that we debuted on Oasis of the Seas that we are introducing some of
them aboard Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas. No matter which Royal
Caribbean ship vacationers choose, they are going to love all the enhancements
that we are planning,” she said.

Broadway production

A Broadway show will also be
running on Liberty
of the Seas, which will be announced later this year. It follows the good
response the company has had to the showing of Hairspray on Oasis, and Chicago: The Musical on
Allure of the Seas. There will also be a kids’ musical on both Freedom and Liberty.

Other new features include the
Royal Babies and Tots Nursery which provide nursery care for babies and tots
from 6 to 36 months old.

Both ships will now feature huge
18.5 foot outdoor video screens overlooking the main family pool area. Movies
and entertainment programmes will be shown for families, friends and couples
under the stars.

Other new features include a
Cupcake Cupboard and a wine Vintage lounge.

The shore excursions at Cozumel now
include options to snorkel near nurse sharks, pair food and a selection from
180 delicious Mexican wines, or volunteer to contribute to the Cozumel community through the Mexican Red Cross.
