New executive board for BPW

The Business and Professional
Women’s Club of Grand Cayman elected a new executive board at its recent annual
meeting.

The new board members consist of
President Rocio Esau; Immediate Past President Velma Powery-Hewitt; 1st Vice
President Dawn Mclean-Sawney; 2nd Vice President Michelle Bouchard; Treasurer
Jennifer Collins; Recording Secretary Kerry Horek; and Membership Director
Annick Pasquali.

The club’s annual fundraising
events include a golf tournament and Salsa Night, of which all proceeds go to
fund the club’s annual scholarship programs for young women in the community.  There is also the annual Back-to-School Drive
to assist needy students in the community with school supplies. Other annual
club events are the Silent Witness March and 16 Days of Activism Against Gender
Violence.

In the coming year, the new
executive board aims to aid the community with some of its other projects,
including the Annie Huldah Bodden Lecture Series, the Junior Achievement
Program, and by awarding and sponsoring of The Product of the Year.
