It’s amazing what can happen in two
months. Back in April the Wendy’s Tarheels were nearly written off as an
also-ran in local basketball.
Now their disposition is
drastically different. As week 11 of the 14-week national basketball league
wraps up Wendy’s find itself just outside of the playoffs in fifth place. Young
stars like Patrick Barnes and Tikko Moore have worked wonders to turn around a
side that has been among the worst in local hoops the last few seasons.
On Sunday the club hopes to keep
positive sentiments going on the strength of big men like Andrew Wisdom.
Wendy’s faces bottom club team Colombia at the Arts and Recreation Centre in Camana
Bay at 5:45pm.
The other notable match on the day
sees a premier tussle for the third seed in the standings as the Kael Leslie
and the Bulls tangle with the Kwei General and the Silver Bullets at 7:30pm.
