If you have a nose for fine wine
with an ancient pedigree accompanied by an elaborate meal that complements each
vintage served, then Blue by Eric Ripert’s wine series event Discover Tuscany
is for you.
The last of the restaurant’s Wine
Series dinner of 2010, the event on Saturday, 23 October will include a lavish
six-course meal from Blue’s award-winning kitchen paired with a vertical
sampling of six Siepi vintages from what is widely considered the flagship wine
Dinner guests will sample some
exclusive vintages not available in Cayman.
The wines, produced by the Mazzei
family, are from the wine-making dynasty’s Castello di Fonterutoli brand: Siepi,
a Super Tuscan blend, which is an equal part Merlot and Sangiovese. Guest
sommelier Flavio Andreatta, brand manager from Giowine, will guide guests
through the tasting of the 1996, 2001, and 2003-2006 vintages during the meal
created by Blue’s Chef Luis Lujan. The Ritz-Carlton’s head sommelier, Kristian
Netis, will also be attending.

Super Tuscan in a vertical tasting is an exclusive event for Cayman foodies, as
some of the Siepi vintages are not readily available on island,” said Blue’s
