Competition winner off to Scotland

Amber Tatum was the lucky winner of
a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Scotland, courtesy of British Airways, Jacques
Scott and The Journal.

The prize includes flights to
Scotland on British Airways, a round of golf, and a tour of the Chivas Regal
distillery.

Ms Tatum, a chief analyst in the
investment and securities division with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority,
said that she is very excited about winning, especially as she does play a bit
of golf, having “messed around on a few courses in Florida”, by her own
admission.

“When they called me, I almost fell
off my chair. I’m just happy – I’ve never won anything, so this is great,” said
Ms Tatum.

When she saw the competition and
realised she could answer the competition questions, she just had to enter.

On recalling how she knew the
different Chivas Regal products, Ms Tatum described it as a little bit of
useless information she remembered.

“It is only useless information
until it wins you a trip to Scotland,” she laughed.

She used to work at Corner Pocket,
and recalled being sent out once to buy a bottle of Chivas Regal during an
especially important game of darts.

“When they were playing darts and
ran out, I had to go to the store to get some. I was wondering, ‘12, 18, 25,
which one do I get?’ and it just kind of stuck in my head,” recalled Ms Tatum.

Ms Tatum said she will probably
wait for summer before making use of her prize, as she was not keen on playing
a round of golf in typical Scottish weather.
