Dedicated followers of fashion
should mark their diaries for a three-day fete which promises to well and truly
place Cayman on the style and fashion map.
The first Cayman Fashion Solstice,
4-6 November, hosted by local company Guavaberry Marketing Cayman Ltd, has
organised three distinct yet complimentary events with an accent on style,
sophistication, flair and fun, which have attracted some of the brightest and
the best in the fashion industry.
The highlight and culmination of
the fashion and lifestyle fete is the highly-anticipated Cayman Solstice Gala
on Saturday, 6 November at the Ritz-Carlton ballrooms. The event, hosted by
Cayman’s own supermodel Selita Ebanks will feature top models from some of the
world’s best agencies including Ford, Elite, Major and Red, according to the
organisers. Almost 30 Caymanian models will also rock the runway wearing
fashions from a host of top flight designers. An exclusive VIP after-party will
follow the spectacular fashion gala.
The weekend of fabulosity will kick
off with the Culture & Style Welcome Party at the Perwinkle restaurant in
the Ritz-Carlton on Thursday, 4 November starting at 6pm-10pm. The soiree, a welcome
party to greet the designers, models and the celebrity guests will include a
wide selection of food as well as live entertainment and the extravaganza’s
signature drink the Stoli Solstice cocktail. So rock up, be dazzled, rub shoulders
with the celebrities and enjoy a glass or two while chilling out to the best
club and local music around. Tickets are priced at $70 per head and attendees
are expected to dress to impress in cocktail dresses or a smart shirt and
pants. The evening will also include an after party at Enigma Lounge on West
Bay Road. Billed as A Stoli Solstice Affair, the after party will start at 10pm
with music by the house DJ. Entry will cost $25.
On Friday, 5 November party people
will want to converge at Osetra Bay for Cayman Fashion Solstice’s White Sunset
Fashion Fete where a warm sunset and balmy island breezes and a lounge vibe
await. The ambience will be further enhanced with music by DJ Atomskillz pop,
island music and guest celebrity singer – IYAZ. Attendees are required to wear
white and can look forward to enjoying an exciting elegant fashion party with
enticing hors d’oeuvres from the new Osetra Bay menu as well as the signature
complimentary drink Stoli Solstice, while mingling with some of the fashion
industry’s top players. The tickets for the event are $55. The party starts at
7pm and goes on until late.
Saturday night is set to be the
high light of the entire 4 day weekend which will be the Cayman Fashion
Solstice gala where glamour, glitz, fashion and fun will meet. The fashion show
starting at 6pm will feature collections from some of the globe’s most noted
designers. Confirmed talent includes the two-time Project Runway finalist and
fashionistas’ favourite Korto Momolu, Aqua Couture by Guyanese designer Roger
Gary, hot avant-garde New York couturier LaQuan Smith and Indashio, renowned
couturier Claudia Pegus and Cayman Islands own Crown Atelier by Tigerlily Hill
and Gabz & Gabz swim and beach wear. Bringing the runway to life will be a
multicultural cast of international models, who will strut down the runway
bringing together the worlds of entertainment, high fashion and the media.
Guest celebrity entertainment will be provided by IYAZ. Regular tickets for
this event are $75 with VIP tickets priced at $125.
