Pure Art Gallery and Gifts on South Church Street is featuring its 25th Anniversary Group Art Show through 27 November.
The charming Cayman cottage is the perfect venue for this group exhibition with a range of the artist’s newest works in oil, acrylic, ceramic, mixed media, and watercolor, which uniquely expresses ‘Cayman style” through these creative and talented local artists.
Twenty-five years ago Pure Art first opened as a very small shop focusing on selling Cayman original paintings and Cayman thatch, jams, hand crafted gifts, as local “Pure Art”.
Today the business’ focus has held true to that goal, daily featuring The Cayman Island’s finest paintings, sculptures, hand done gifts, household items, jewellery, thatch gifts and much more. The 25 Anniversary Art Show is also within the shop’s newly renovated Main Gallery room, where the lovely century old wooden floors and tongue and groove walls perfectly display the lovely colours, textures and gorgeous subjects of this show.
Prices range from $100 to $1800, with a special of 20 per cent off paintings and the major sculptures just in time for holiday shopping. Without a theme, the artists have created a very fine selection of local art.
Participating artists include Lorna Griggs, Mark Frazer, Joanne Sibley, Jerry Sibley, Debbie van der Bol, John Broad, Dora Williams, Dawn McTaggart, Lois Brezinski, Saba, John Clark, Avril Ward, Moyra Curtis, Hannah Leblanc, Maureen Andersen, Maureen Lazarus, Elaine Grieves, Shirley Scott.
