As if watching Showtime’s smash hit Dexter wasn’t enough, fans addicted to the top-rated crime books and TV spin-off will now get the chance to meet the author whose books started it all: Jeff Lindsay.
Books & Books secured the celebrated author knowing that followers of the cult show and book series would jump at the chance of meeting the writer.
The author will be at the Camana Bay bookstore Thursday, 9 December from 7pm for a discussion and signing of his latest novel in the series, Dexter is Delicious.
America’s most-read, most-watched, and most-talked about fictional serial killer Dexter Morgan is back.
After selling more than one million copies and inspiring the wildly popular prime-time series, New York Times bestselling author, Lindsay returns with his most hilarious, macabre, and viscerally entertaining Dexter novel yet.
Dexter Morgan has always lived a happy homicidal life. He keeps his dark urges in check by adhering to one steadfast rule: he only kills very bad people. But now Dexter is experiencing some major life changes and they’re mostly wrapped up in the eight-pound curiosity that is his newborn daughter. Family bliss is cut short, however, when Dexter is summoned to investigate the disappearance of a teenage girl who has been running with a bizarre group of goths who fancy themselves to be real-life vampires. As Dexter gets closer to the truth of what happened to the missing girl, he realises they are not really vampires so much as cannibals. And, most disturbing… they’ve decided they would really like to eat Dexter.
The writer’s iconic dark, ironic, and oftentimes laugh-out-loud novels about the lovable serial killer with no soul (but a redeeming desire to kill only people who deserve it) have gained a legion of fans and have quickly assumed a place in pop culture.
Jeff Lindsay’s earlier Dexter books are Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter, Dexter in the Dark and Dexter by Design. Lindsay lives in South Florida with his wife and three daughters.
The entire Dexter book series is now available at Books & Books. This event is part of the store’s International Visiting Author Series and is sponsored by Sunshine Suites Resort and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. It is free and open to the public.
