The University College of the Cayman Islands has a vibrant Executive Training Centre that offers a range of opportunities for people to develop or upgrade management knowledge and skills. Entry into all programs is flexible, giving recognition and value to the learning that people have gained through their work in public or private enterprise.
In 2011, in addition to a range of short courses, two Master’s degrees are offered: Master of Human Resource Management and the Professional MBA.
The Master of HR Management, starting in January, offers an opportunity for US certification through the Human Resource Certification Institute as part of the degree. UCCI has already graduated 12 successful participants.
The Professional MBA, starting in October, commences with the Executive Certificate in Management. This popular program is jointly offered by the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and UCCI and has already graduated over 40 participants. The Executive Certificate can be completed as a stand-alone program or participants can continue into the pMBA.
In February, an exciting new program offers opportunities for entry-level participants to develop knowledge and skills appropriate to funds management. This program is offered in partnership with the UK-based Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) and offers CISI certification for successful participants.
Learning about contemporary management practices in all executive training programs, offers participants opportunities to critically reflect upon their professional practice, to make sound judgments and contribute to a productive economic future for the Cayman Islands.
