A new Caribbean-wide campaign to tap directly into local knowledge will give travellers inside information.
Whispers from the Locals has been launched by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation and is intended to highlight ‘under-the-radar authentic experiences that make the destinations of the Caribbean such sought-after locales,’ said the organisation.
In this way, visitors will be able to find out about the best-kept secrets of Caribbean destinations that do not necessarily find their way into guestbooks or onto websites.
The whispers will be featured on the homepage of the site along with a photo. There will also be a Twitter contest designed around questions relating to countries’ hidden secrets and treasures, with a new question every Friday until 4 November.
Cayman is represented on the site by a picture and story about the international storytelling festival, Gimistory.
