RBC Wealth Management has announced that scholarship recipient Kimberly Robinson joined the firm as a full-time employee on 22 August.
Ms Robinson graduated in August 2010 from the University of Kent with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree and recently attended The College of Law of England and Wales where she passed the Legal Practice Course with a commendation.
Ms Robinson is the 2007 recipient of the RBC WM Scholarship.
“I am sincerely grateful to RBC WM for allowing me the opportunity to pursue my education. Throughout the years everyone at the company has been very encouraging and supportive of my endeavours. Now that I have completed my studies I look forward to giving back positively to the company,” she said.
The RBC WM Scholarship, valued at up to US$25,000 per year, is awarded to one recipient for a four-year period and is accompanied by practical work experience at the company as well as the opportunity for future employment. The scholarship supports the educational development of young Caymanians wishing to pursue a career in the finance industry.
As part of the scholarship programme, Ms Robinson will take part in a graduate work experience programme, which will allow her to rotate between the different business lines and functional support areas within RBC WM including Trusts, Investments, Corporate & Institutional, Private Banking and Human Resources.
The graduate work experience program is geared toward providing a holistic view of the business and integrated solutions, while giving them on-the-job training in their chosen field and affording them the opportunity to build on and develop skills gained in college.
Head of Wealth Management for the Caribbean and Managing Director for RBC Deanna Bidwell said, “I am delighted to congratulate Kimberly on her outstanding accomplishments and I am pleased to welcome her back to RBC WM.”
