Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce CEO Wil Pineau recently travelled to Los Angeles to attend the American Chamber of Commerce Executives annual convention, where he accepted a Gold Award for Chamber magazine, published in partnership with Cayman Free Press.
“We have been very pleased to have partnered with the Chamber on Chamber magazine since its launch at the beginning of 2006,” said Cayman Free Press Business Manager Teritia Peart. “Chamber magazine is an important resource for the Chamber, the largest business and community-based organisation in the Cayman Islands, its members and the wider community, raising topics and providing information of relevant concern and allowing the body to increase its profile on a local and international level.”
The Cayman Islands Chamber was the only group from outside of the US to be recognised in the 2010-2011 Award for Communication Excellence competition. The Gold Award for the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce quarterly review came in the category of Member and Community Publications. In all, eight organisations won Gold Awards out of 83 entries from North America and the Caribbean
“The Chamber is proud to have our Chamber magazine recognised for the second time by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE). Chamber Communications Manager Mrs. Roberta Bostock and the team at Cayman Free Press, led by Teritia Peart and Tammie Chisholm, work diligently each quarter to produce a world-class publication. It is satisfying to be recognised among the best in the Chamber business. I’d like to also thank member businesses for advertising and contributing high quality editorial content that addresses some of the key topics affecting our community. We should all be proud of this outstanding achievement,” Mr. Pineau said.
American Chamber of Commerce Executives President Mick Fleming said, “There is truly exceptional communications work being done in the chamber profession, and ACCE is proud to recognize those achievements.”
Chamber magazine was previously recognised by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, winning an Award of Excellence in the Magazine category in the 2007-2008 competition. The American Chamber of Commerce Executives is an association of 7,800 members involved in the management of 1,400 chambers of commerce in North America and the Caribbean.
“I wish to thank the members of the Cayman Free Press in-house product team who have worked in collaboration with the Chamber to produce a professional and quality magazine. This recognition by ACCE reaffirms our belief that local companies are as innovative and competitive as any international peers,” Mrs. Peart said.
