Stroke of good timing as clinic makes another splash

Aspiring triathletes who want to improve their swimming stage of the event get another opportunity next week with the return to Grand Cayman of Swimming Technology clinic. The clinic will be conducted by Dr. Rod Havriluk who is a biomechanist and a former top level swim coach. He is the inventor of Aquanex, a video analysis process to assess a swimmer’s technique. During playback, swimmers can see exactly how much force they are generating throughout their stroke.

Havriluk has been conducting research on swimming for over 25 years. He is one of the most widely published experts on technique and has presented his research all over the world and has shown many of the world’s fastest swimmers how to improve their techniques.

The Grand Cayman clinic runs from 28-29 January. Many locals have benefitted from this clinic in the past. Those who have not taken this opportunity and want to improve their swim stroke and finally improve their personal record are keen to attend. Space is limited to 12 participants.

The Triathlon Association Annual General Meeting is at Sunset House on Tuesday 17 January at 6.30pm where new committee members will be elected and 2012 events will be discussed. Refreshments will be served.
