Main Story
2011 Year in Review
The Chamber is starting two new Small and Medium Business assistance initiatives in the early part of this year: Business Coaching Cayman and HR Care. Brand new to the Chamber, we hope that these programmes will help our members reach their full potential as profitable and sustainable businesses.
Business Coaching Cayman
What is Business Coaching? Business coaching is the process of supporting a business with its short or long term business needs, while simultaneously transferring practical business skills into the key individuals within the organisation.
What is Business Coaching Cayman? Shirlaws Cayman, part of the Shirlaws global business coaching organisation, has agreed to partner with the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce to provide an excellent new service for Cayman’s SME’s.
They believe that cultural and commercial issues impact on each other in business and they want to show businesses how they can establish a balance between those issues whilst using a range of tools and frameworks to support themselves at various stages of their development.
The coaching techniques are designed to lead business owners into a more strategic role, re-energise them and provide more opportunities for staff.
This is a four-month pilot programme (March until June 2012) specifically designed to provide access to the tools, techniques and skills available through business coaching for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Who will qualify? Small business owners and entrepreneurs are eligible to apply. Space is limited to 10 spaces for the pilot programme. Chamber members will receive a special rate. Participants will be asked to submit with their application a cover letter explaining how they feel they can benefit from Business Coaching, what their top three priorities are for 2012, and why they should be selected.
How long and how much? A Shirlaws coach will meet with this select group monthly for a 90-minute session. The sessions will cover a variety of business issues that will empower participants to lead their businesses and will create a network of people with shared experiences.
Each participant in Business Coaching Cayman will also receive two one-to-one 90 minute sessions with a Shirlaws coach during the pilot programme period, as well as support online available only to programme participants. This is for a reduced introductory rate of $1,000.
HR Care
What is HR Care? HR Care is a unique, reliable and dedicated professional HR service available exclusively for Chamber members, adding value to your membership package. This programme is being introduced by the Chamber in association with Trans4M, a member company, specialising in HR management and development.
