If you’re after a feast for the eyes this weekend, you’d be advised (by us) to head to the Bebida Bar at Grand Pavilion Pool Side.
Why? you ask. Well, friend, it’s because Nolly Brown Entertainment is holding a pre-Valentine’s Fashion Show from 7pm onwards.
“The idea,” remarks Nolly, “of the fashion is to promote local shopping here in Cayman using our local clothing stores. We are using eight stores to show what they have to offer here on Island for 2012 fashions. We will also be giving some of the profits to Cayman Aids Foundation. The stores are Infinity, Miche Bag Cayman, One and Only Boutique, Reflections, Styles with a Difference, Lorna’s Exquisite Fashion, Beltina’s Special Fashion and Hi Style Fashion.”
Valentine’s Clothing
They will be showing off their Valentine’s clothing, continues Nolly.
“Also, anyone who attends the event will be given 10 to 15 per cent off any item in the store once they show the ticket from the event for support the show. We are also have a 24 hour marriage certificate arrangement for anyone who wants to get married for a night; this will cost $5, which will go to Cayman Aids Foundation.” Rumours Kim Kardashian has already applied have just been started by Weekender but aren’t true. Probably.
The venue can’t be seen from the street but take it from us – the courtyard is gorgeous and with the special stars shining above, it will be quite the sight. There will also be 50 models, says Nolly.
“Our models are all local Caymanians who live here on Island and will be modelling all clothing from the stores, ranging from small to XXX models as we are trying to show that just because you’re XXX don’t mean you cannot find something on island to make you look sexy.”
Quite right too. Formal dresses and semi-smart formal clothing are the order of the day and there’s something promised for both men and women.
There will also be local performers and guest singers including Cindy Bueno, the winner of Pinot Idol 2011, Nolly Brown and others.
The event is sponsored by Cayman Airways.
Doors open 6pm and tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the gate and VIP tables cost $200. More information on 393-4451.
