Rio in bid for Olympic bash

Cayman’s top three amateur boxers are in Rio de Janiero trying to qualify for the London Olympics which start in July. This is the last opportunity for the talented trio.

Dariel Ebanks competes in the light-heavyweight division, Kendall Ebanks amongst the light-welters and Tafari Ebanks in the bantamweights. They will be competing from Friday and have coaches Donie Anglin and Troy O’Neil in their corner. Kendall and Tafari left on Wednesday, Dariel left the day before with team manager Carson Ebanks who is the Secretary General of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee. Assistant coach Norman Wilson was at the airport to see the team off on Wednesday.
