Residents in the Cayman Islands can now engage in dodgeball.
Organisers of the annual Z99 Dodgeball Bash would like to remind the public that the competition is slated for this Saturday, 30 June, at Camana Bay’s Arts and Recreation Centre.
Action begins at 12noon with the team meeting. Squads will consist of at least six players, up to a maximum of 10 people. Two members must be female and all participants must be 18 years or older. Costumes are highly recommended and absolutely no outside drinks will be allowed, with the punishment being automatic disqualification.
The competition has taken place for a number of years, with the 2011 version also happening at Camana Bay. A number of teams, in various attire, took part last year with various local sportsmen, such as Richard Campbell, Jon Pump and Glenn Duran Jr, showing their moves.
The grand prize has changed from the $1,000 cash prize of years past. This time around, the winning side earns free airfare for 10 persons to either Jamaica, Miami, Tampa or Panama, depending on the winners’ choice.
Registration is $250 per team and there is still time to register. Forms should be printed from the Z99 website and delivered to the studios at Grand Harbour along with the fee.
