Moons bright idea

LONDON – Cayman Islands sailors Andrew and Jane Moon held a reception for the Olympic team at their London home on Friday.

The couple have a house in Knightsbridge and took the opportunity to host Olympians Cydonie Mothersill, Ronald Forbes and Kemar Hyman as well as coaches and officials for a lunch.

Andrew Moon is Commodore at the Cayman Islands Sailing Club and Jane is a past Commodore. Both still compete.

There is a big sailing community in the Cayman Islands and, indeed, Donald McLean and Carson Ebanks, respective President and General-Secretary of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee have competed as sailors in past Olympic Games.

Jane Moon said: “We wanted to host the Olympians and show our appreciation of what they are doing.

“We’ve always worked closely with the Olympic Committee and it was a perfect opportunity to catch up with friends who also wanted to meet the Olympians.”
