Fancy underwater pumpkin carving? Absolutely we do!

Bored of the same old routine? Weekender does its level best to prevent boredom by bringing you news of all the entertainment options and activities that are coming up during the next week or so. Some of it is quite standard, and some of it is, frankly, way out there.

This weekend Don Foster’s Dive takes away the weirdest and wackiest prize, because these eccentric explorers of the deep have come up with one of the most hair brained ideas yet: they’re holding an underwater pumpkin carving competition this Sunday, 28 October.

That’s right – pumpkin carving 50 feet below the surface.

And why not?

All you need to do bring is your own pumpkin, a knife and a sense of fun. Don Foster’s will provide free tanks and weights to all the pumpkin carvers and you’ll want to have scooped out the flesh from the pumpkin ahead of time. You can even draw the face on before you take the plunge, if you want to. Then hop in the water right in front of the dive shop, settle yourself down on the sandy patch and start getting creative.

The finished products will be carefully assessed and the winner will receive a free two-tank dive and a Don Foster’s T shirt.

Who wouldn’t want to have underwater pumpkin carving on their resume?

The fun kicks off at 2pm and judging will take place immediately after.
