The Brac gets into Christmas

A communiqué has just landed from our mates over in Cayman Brac about two special events happening this Saturday, 1 December.

First off, there’s the Christmas Cookie Decorating Party, which takes place at Heritage House from 10am to 1pm. You can decorate your own cookies for 50 cents apiece or stop and buy a bunch of decorated cookies. All cookies, icing sprinkles and candy are provided and money raised goes to the Harmony Learning Centre.

The centre is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families living in Cayman Brac, respecting their rights, increasing their opportunities to make choices and decisions about the quality of their lives and responding to their changing needs.

Craft market

Later in the afternoon, at 4 to 6.30pm to be precise, Heritage House Craft Market takes place at the Alexander Hotel. Our good buddy Saskia Edwards tells us that in addition to all the goodies available for sale, the market will include a Christmas Ornament Craft Station for kids; a special appearance by Santa Claus – kids can also bring a camera and take photos with Santa; an art exhibit by the CYB National Gallery Painting Group will be on display inside the lobby.

For more information, contact Ms Edwards at [email protected] or call 948-0563.
