Cayman Islands high jumper Ashleigh Nalty finished tied for second place with a leap of 1.70 metres at the AUS Track and Field meet in Canada.
Nalty’s second place finish was good enough to be named an All-American in Moncton, New Brunswick. She competed at the Missouri Baptist men’s and women’s indoor track and field NAIA Indoor National Championships.
Another Caymanian at college, Anissa Owen, placed first in the women’s long jump with a leap of 5.37m, only 5cm off her season’s best. Owen also placed fifth in the 60m sprint in a time of 8.05 seconds.
