For any tennis fans with deep pockets there is a chance to attend the US Open in New York this summer and help local programmes in return.
The Tennis Federation of the Cayman Islands is offering two tickets for the President’s Suite and Dining Room at the US Open 2013, which have been donated for auction.
These are limited tickets by VIP invitation only and have been offered by Alan Schwartz, past president of the United States Tennis Association.
There is a minimum bid requirement of $2,800 for the pair. All bidders are required to be resident in the Cayman Islands.
Barring injury or illness, stars like Serena Williams, Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova and Rafael Nadal will be competing at Flushing Meadows.
The donation is for the two tickets to the President’s Suite, either for a day session or evening session. It includes lunch or dinner in the President’s restaurant.
This would be for any day or evening session during the first week of the 2013 US Open, which covers 26 August through 2 September. A charitable US receipt goes with the bid.
This is an open bid, whereby those interested in the tickets are required to submit their bid to [email protected] by email.
Bids are to be submitted by no later than 1pm on Wednesday, 19 June. The person who makes the highest bid will be awarded the tickets.
If there is a tie, parties concerned will be notified by email and given the opportunity to increase their bid.
The money raised will be used to support the federation’s many programmes, including the schools’ programme, junior circuit and elite squad.
