Cayman’s fastest man is heading to the biggest track meet of the year.
Kemar Hyman qualified last week for the 2013 IAAF World Championships, in Moskva, Russia next month.
Hyman ran the 100 metres dash 10.11 seconds at the Bahamas Amateur Athletics Association Open Nationals.
That’s an A-standard qualifying time for the 23-year-old sprinter, who is the only Cayman Islands athlete who will qualify for the Worlds. Cydonie Mothersill has just had a baby and Ronald Forbes is injured for the rest of the year.
Hyman is the Cayman Islands 100m record holder in 9.95 seconds, which he ran before the London Olympics last year.
