Back-to-school project helps primary students

Some 95 primary school students have received school supplies, thanks to an annual project of the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens.

Beth Taylor, store manager at Kirk Office, which was among several businesses that made donations, said the young generation of Cayman are our future and need to be supported whenever possible, especially in this economic climate.

“We always support worthy causes such as these, and this year is no different,” she said.

Other businesses that donated supplies were Office Supply Ltd., Lee’s Office Products and Printing Centre and Foster’s Food Fair, helping to ensure that all students are well-equipped for the new academic year.

Lion Nereen Thomas expressed gratitude on behalf of the Grand Cayman Lions, Tropical Gardens Lions, Grand Cayman Omega Leo and Clifton Hunter Alpha Leo clubs.

“The Lions are thankful for the support that is always given by the local businesses as we seek to meet the needs of the community, especially those of the children at this time,” she said.
