The Bootcamp hosts top international jiu jitsu instructors

The Bootcamp Cayman will be welcoming some international VIP guest instructors to its facility next weekend. Rener Gracie of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu family and academy, and Eve Torres, female self-defense ambassador for Gracie Jiu Jitsu and former three-time WWE Divas champ, are scheduled to give a number of empowering seminars for men, women and children on Oct. 17.

For example, the Women Empowered Self Defense Seminar hosted by Torres, is free for those who attend, sponsored by David Ravenscroft of Multimedia International. This seminar is being held to raise awareness of sufferers of bipolar disorder, depression and mental illness.

“We want to help females be able to defend themselves, not only from potential external threats but more importantly, from possible internal attacks,” explains Torres. “Looking good is great, but feeling good about yourself, regardless of what you look like, is the most important factor.

“Just like jiu jitsu, it doesn’t matter how big, small, athletic or fit you are; it’s about what you are capable of. That’s the message I want to share with the ladies of Grand Cayman.”

The Women Empowered Self Defense Seminar will be held at The Bootcamp in Industrial Park from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 17.
