The Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants, one the largest and longest established professional societies in the Cayman Islands, has appointed Sheree Ebanks as CISPA’s first chief executive officer.
Mrs. Ebanks was previously with Butterfield Bank in the Cayman Islands where her last position was as director and head of Wealth Management. She was also responsible for the bank’s public relations.
Mrs. Ebanks began her career in financial services in 1974 with CIBC in Grand Cayman. She has a wide range of industry experience covering asset management, fiduciary services, corporate governance and regulatory issues.
She has participated in a number of government advisory groups, is a former director of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange, and has held and continues to hold a number of private and public sector board positions.
“We selected Sheree because of her extensive experience in the financial services industry as well as the relationships and number of positions she has held within the Cayman community. We welcome Sheree’s experience and leadership to the association and look forward to her contributions toward the continued development of CISPA,” said CISPA President Graeme Sunley.
Mrs. Ebanks said she is honored to have been selected as the first CEO of CISPA.
“I am excited to join an organization at such a juncture in its development,” she said, “and look forward to contributing to the continued growth and development of not just the profession, but also CISPA’s position as a recognized participant in ensuring the ongoing credibility and sustainability of financial services in the Cayman Islands.”
